It was 0'dark thirty when we got to Gateway park just in time to help unload one of the trucks. Lots to do before the 9:00am start time. Registration table set up, T shirt booth set up, get the BBQ started. Sally was so overjoyed to be there she was dancing her way in.
This year we had a sign in board and good call JJ. I am sure it will be at future events. People kept us busy at sing-in it was a stead stream, I looked at my watch and it was only 8:45 and over 100 or more people had already check in. Cacher always seem to get to events early.
Everyone brings there own chairs and stake out a place to sit. This year we had around 1000 people, everyone staked out there spot and we had room to spare. We had games for those that wanted to play. Some people just enjoy visiting, telling caching stories, and getting helpful hints from fellow cacher. There are so many stories to tell, and of course everyone tries to out do the last storey told.
The tri tip BBQ was wonderful and everyone was so impressed that we fed everyone in 30 minutes. There was enough food that anyone could have seconds. Tri tip, Pinto Beans, Slaw, and Tortilla. YUMMMMMM!
JJ's Mom made enough home baked cookies for 1200, what a great Mom.
First picture is the story of the first cache. GCGV0P check out the story at this number. The original can of beans, first time I saw the original can of beans it was not in a protected case. Our coin for this year..... now we have to figure out a new design for our next coin.
