FAIR TIME ONCE AGAIN.

Once again time to get the cows ready for the fair.  Trace has the job of herding the cows into the barn so they can have a training session.  But first time for a sip of water, while Cassidy plans the best way to get these critters trained.  Around and around the barn they go, stop, setup, and go again.
Grandpa even got into working with the cows, that is if you can call holding a salt lick work.   Wednesday morning the cows will go to the fair and that is when the fun starts.

More to come ......B

FUN TIME IN THE DESERT

Today as a nice sunny day so we decided it would be a good day to exercise the RZR's. After a quick breakfast at the golf course and then Mina, Larry, Wayne and I headed for Fortuna mine. It has been a few years since we had been there, they now have a plaque telling some of the history of the mine. Also a book for people to sign.. OK now that we have learned some history it is Caching time.

We only found 5or7 caches today, it has been a while since we have cached out here.   Was really more into playing tourist and we did find some unique spiral Swarrow Cactus.  It was the first time Larry and Mina has see that kind of cactus.

Thats all for now......B

YUMA MEGA EVENT #10

It was 0'dark thirty when we got to Gateway park just in time to help unload one of the trucks. Lots to do before the 9:00am start time.  Registration table set up, T shirt booth set up, get the BBQ started.  Sally was so overjoyed to be there she was dancing her way in.
This year we had a sign in board and good call JJ.  I am sure it will be at future events.  People kept us busy  at sing-in it was a stead stream, I looked at my watch and it was only 8:45 and over 100 or more people had already check in.  Cacher always seem to get to events early.
Everyone brings there own chairs and stake out a place to sit.  This year we had around 1000 people, everyone staked out there spot and we had room to spare.  We had games for those that wanted to play.  Some people just enjoy visiting, telling caching stories, and getting helpful hints from fellow cacher.  There are so many stories to tell, and of course everyone tries to out do the last storey told.

The tri tip BBQ was wonderful and everyone was so impressed that we fed everyone in 30 minutes.  There was enough food that anyone could have seconds.  Tri tip, Pinto Beans, Slaw, and Tortilla. YUMMMMMM!
JJ's Mom made enough home baked cookies for 1200, what a great Mom.
First picture is the story of the first cache.  GCGV0P check out the story at this number.  The original can of beans, first time I saw the original can of beans it was not in a protected case.   Our coin for this year..... now we have to figure out a new design for our next coin.

Check out the podcast, Caching is truly a family thing for this family.  The kids are great.     http://www.kyma.com/slp.php?idN=7989&cat=Local+News
Cut and paste the http above to a new window to view.
Needless to say it was a very success day.

Yuma Warm Up Mega Event # 10

Yuma Warm Up Mega Event # 10 was held at the Fun Factory. Hot dog and Hamburgers buffet, with all the fixin' was our special buffet.
Here us "Foxie" and "Buckshot" clowning around, you never know what a cacher will do next.  The plan for the night was have fun and we did.
Bronco Busters relaxing, Half Pint and Two Grand looks like they are having a serious conversation.  I bet is is all about caching.  Gideon-x is the Grandfather of chaching here in Yuma, he put on the first even here in Yuma 10 years ago.  Our log book is a little big (tomorrow's bigger) guess I should have rotated this pix before I downloaded it to the computer.  Other candid shots of people enjoying the evening.

I have a good time making new friends tonight, and will get to see them again tomorrow.  Big day tomorrow we are expecting over 1200 people for our first ever Yuma Mega event.  Will let you know how it goes.....    B

City Of Yuma's Proclamation

February 10th 2013 as Geocaching Day here in Yuma to Celebrate our Mega Event!  We had a nice turn out for this event, almost filled up one side of the room.  Thanks goodness they did this first thing so we could leave before the official meeting started.  The Mayor Alan Kriger  made  the presentation. Thanks to all the cachers that truned out for this event.

What to do after something like this?????  Go to Lutes of course.  Not to many of us make it there but enough to make it fun.

Enjoy the candid shots of us feeding our faces and telling caching stroies.

This is the start of a very busy week one event down, 4 more to go.  What a fun time we are going to have.....

S*W*A*G Breakfast

Nice turn out for our breakfast as usual. The group is gearing up for a busy next week. There are so many things going on you need a program.  Today we got our new shirts, different colors this year, I wore my old grey shirt, saving my new ones for the festivities this week.
Yummy buffet, but I have a hard time eating since I would rather visit.  This month we had our round tables back and I like that much better.
After breakfast most of us headed for "Yuma Territorial Prison" to present them with a plaque with our Geo caching coin, they were very pleased.  Nice picture of our group outside of the prison.
Here we are inside the prison our group in front "Sally port",  again on the stairs of the Look out.  Presentation of the plaque.  Needless to say everyone had a nice time.
This next week will be a busy week, 2/6/13 "City of Yuma Proclamation" they will make 2/10/13 official "Geo caching day". 2/08/13 'Warn up before the warm up" at Lutes, put on from some cachers from Tuscon.  2/09/13 Will be the warm up at Fun Factory" There will also be a lot of new caches released just before the festivities.

2/10/13 we expect 1100 plus to show up at "Gateway Park" for "Yuma Mega Event #10".  Tri tip BBQ, with beans, slaw, tortilla, and Mom's homemade cookies.

There are several more events, CITO, a coffee event, a wave goodbye event......  and who knows what else.  Fun, games and good times in YUMA!!!!

Looking forward to meeting new people, seeing old friends, we have people coming in from the N.U.T.s group, they are out of Red Bluff.

Will let you know how it goes.... fun time in YUMA   B or as I am known here CRZOLDY

CASSIDY IS A WILDCAT......

Cassidy (black long-sleeved jersey #14) and her club volleyball team, the North County Wildcats. She is the tallest on her team or at least it looks like it to me, and what long arms she has.

11 girls on her team ranging from 8th grade thru 10th grade coming from 6 different schools around the county.  Cassidy is having fun meeting new people from all over the county.

Played in 2 all-day tournaments so far this season ~ won a few games, lost a few games but learning so much each game they play.  What great memories Cassidy is making for herself and family.

This blog was written by Tami (first sentence each paragraph)  Add on Me.

WOW when I see Cassidy next she will tower over me!!!

S.W.A.G Breakfast

was last sunday and I am just now getting around to posting a blog..... hey at least I am posting one.  Nice turn out as always, caching people are great for turning out for events, especialy when there is food, or is that just me?  One more breakfast and then it will be Event #10 time. This year we have made Mega statis, we are close to 1000 people signed up to attend the event.

It has been cold here in Yuma, down in the 32-40's.  I do not like that, I came here for the warm weather.  We are back on track today with a 70 now 75 tomorrow and then 79 the rest of the week. At least that is what my phone is telling me.

Wayne has not been feeling well all week, I think he is finally on the mend... I was not feeling well for a couple days but fine now.  Neither one of us like the tummy bug.

No plans for next week, just the way I like, just go with the flow.....   B
