WE HAVE ARRIVED
at Avi Casino and signed up for 3 days at the RV park, pay for 2 days and stay 3, can't pass up a deal like that. Stopped at the Marine base in Barstow but there was no open spaces in there park so we headed on down the road. It was only an one and one half hours to Avi but it is such a boring drive it seem way longer than that. From the pix it looks like we are the only ones here, we just happened to be at the end of the row. The park is quite full. More rigs in the dry camp area.
Dinner at the coffee shop I had Mexican food, Wayne had the 99 cent ham and eggs special, you know W always looking for the deal. We gambled a little, W make enough to pay for dinner and still be up $15. and I lost $5. We did not stay long since I am tired...... so that is it for now.......B

Left Woodland
after gassing up at Costco. On the road around 11ish and passed up Harris Ranch and stopped at Lost Hills instead. We are at Lost Hills RV Campgrownd. Nice little park, I guess, every site has it's own Eucalyptus tree, sand and ruts. BUT we are hooked up to electricity and we can keep nice suggie warm tonight. When you come into Lost Hills all you see is gas station and fast food places. I did not see grocery store.....but that is OK the campground has some grocery items. Coffee smallest can made $8.01 after that I did not look at anything else.
Off the road and gassed up by 4:00pm. Tomorrow we will get on the road wever we get around to it, short drive tomorrow...... so tune in tomorrow and see where we are. B

The girls last hurrah of the year started out with breakfast in Davis. Cafe' Italia is one of our favorite places for breakfast and we had not been there in years. Everything on the menu looked so yummy it was hard to decide, Rhon ended up with eggs Benedict and I had the Italian omelet with steamed spinach. We did our normal thing by eating breakfast planning lunch...... no I am not kidding you and at lunch we planned dinner. Does not everyone do that?
On to the have a nice relaxing pedicure and manicure at our favorite place at County Fair mall in Woodland, we made reservations so we could get our favorite guys to work on us. They are so funny and kept us relaxed and entertained. I could get use to having a "mai-pede" once a month....
Back to Davis for lunch.....I know we had just been there but that is OK this is girls day and we do things different. Lunch was at Sophia Thai, we even had Steve join us for lunch. While at lunch we decided to have beef stew for dinner, I really do believe Steve came up that that so it is just not us girls that eat lunch plan dinner. Lunch we yummy but very hard to decide what to have, now I can not tell you what we had but it was very good.
We hit a few second hand stores in Davis nothing hit our fancy, one was an "upscale" store and the prices were crazy. Back to Woodland and shop for Beef Stew stuff.
We got here in Woodland Wed afternoon, so after Bryce went to his football practice Jace and I went in search of a battery charger for my Fuji digital camera, we found that at Best Buy and Jace found a game. On to Target just to see what we could see. We walked all the way around Target and the only thing we looked at was smarties candy. We were to busy talking to really shop. What fun doing nothing but hang out and having the best time.
Today we are getting on the road when ever we get around to moving. We are only going a couple hundred miles on down the road, Harris Ranch or Lost Hills. Plan on taking our time ETA Yuma is Nov 1.
More when we get to Yuma, or before if there is an good Internet connection. B

JACE'S BIRTHDAY DINNER
Friday night we celebrated Jace's 14th birthday, at the Buckhorn Roadhouse and Saloon in Winters CA. It was ONO!!! Rhonda make reservations for us and it was a good thing she did because that is a busy place. Out waiter was nice and layed back, gave us all the lowdown on the menu, like there Angus beef is aged for 42 days etc, etc. Jace was so excited and he knew what he wanted and that was Lobster, thank goodness they had a lobster on the menu.
Only took pictures of Jace, Bryce and my plates. Our table was the rowdiest table in the place. Jace made the mistake of eating the yummy french bread and needed help with his lobster needless to say there were plenty of us that gave him a helping hand.....or should I say mouth! Rhonda terrorising Bryce with the lobster tail. Bryce had chicken strips he is not to adventuresome yet, there is still hope for him. My dinner was the BEST, that is right even better than the lobster. I had Elk steak and it was so flavorful and tender. Steve ordered Rib eye steak, Wayne ordered prime rib. Wayne's dinner was a little tough so they gave him a different cut and it was much better. (because W's dinner was not up to par they comped his dinner) Rhonda, well she did not order any dinner she just had some of all of ours. You know Rhonda and her small meals. Jace had the clam chowder and it was wonderful, nice thick and rich, I did take a couple bites even tho' it had gluten.
Jace was so full after he ate the Mud pie they gave him for his BD. We all felt sorry for him so we helped him eat the mud pie, that was the lest we could do. Our waiter was so nice we told him he did not need to sing the happy birthday song.......not sure he would have anyway.
Here are some candid shots of mostly Bryce clowning around.....imagine that!!! Think Rhon tried to talk him into calming down, it did not work.... he really was not loud, altho' the whole place was loud....he was just being Bryce.
We all had a good time with good food, with wonderful family. Sure hope Jace wants to go back to the Buckhorn next year. Rhonda decided that the B is now there new favorite place to go.
This week will be spent by getting things ready to head south. Some work needs to be done to the MH, we are waiting for parts. Also have friends coming, will be here Thur, and Fri. We do not know for sure when we will be leaving for Yuma..... sometime before the end of the month....that is all I know now.
Later......B
